South Bank Piazza is a multipurpose venue within Brisbane’s South Bank parklands, located on the southern banks of the Brisbane River. With lush green space, world-class cafes and restaurants, and stunning river views, the parklands precinct on the former site of World Expo 88 is now one of Brisbane’s most popular tourist attractions.
Brisbane 2032 use:
The South Bank Piazza is earmarked to host the Olympic basketball 3x3 with 4,500 spectator seats (some temporary).
While there are no major works required at this facility as part of the Brisbane 2032 infrastructure program, shortly before the Games, the venue will be prepared for hosting Brisbane 2032 events.
All venues are being considered within the 100 Day Review into Games infrastructure and planning.
