Ballymore Stadium has been the iconic headquarters of Queensland Ruby Union since the 1960s. Since then, and to this day, the venue caters for both professional athletes and community sports.
Ballymore is now home to the national Wallaroos women's team and the National Rugby Training Centre. The recent upgrade provides a national and international standard sport and recreation facility that can host a wide range of elite and community sport training, competition, community events and activities into the future.
Brisbane 2032 use:
Ballymore Stadium is earmarked to host the Olympic hockey, with 10,000 spectator seats.
While there are no major works required at this facility as part of the Brisbane 2032 infrastructure program, shortly before the Games, the venue will be prepared for hosting Brisbane 2032 events.
