Since opening in 1995, the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre is often referred to as one of Australia’s best convention and event venues. It is a world-class and award-winning facility that has hosted thousands of concerts, sports, conventions, exhibitions, tradeshows, events and functions.
This purpose-built centre is located within one of Brisbane’s most iconic lifestyle and cultural precincts with its array of parklands, restaurants and cafes.
Brisbane 2032 use:
The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre is earmarked to host the Olympic and Paralympic table tennis, fencing, taekwondo, badminton and the Paralympic judo, with seating for up to 6,500 people. The building will also host the Main Press Centre which will house journalists and media outlets from across the world.
While there are no major works required at this facility as part of the Brisbane 2032 infrastructure program, shortly before the Games, the venue will be prepared for hosting Brisbane 2032 events.
All venues are being considered within the 100 Day Review into Games infrastructure and planning.
