Broadwater Parklands is a world-class community and cultural parkland at the northern end of the Gold Coast and the hub of the Gold Coast marathon, Australia’s premier road race that welcomes 6000 runners every year. The parklands is a popular destination for locals and tourists with over five kilometres of footpaths, an outdoor fitness area, facilities for beach volleyball, walking, running, cycling and other sport and recreational activities. The heart of the parklands includes The Great Lawn, a vast expanse of green space suitable for hosting largescale public and private events and activations including the Gold Coast Marathon, Christmas Carols and other community events.
Brisbane 2032 use:
Broadwater Parklands is earmarked to host the Olympic triathlon and marathon swimming and Paralympic triathlon with temporary seating for up to 5,000 spectators.
This temporary venue will be prepared for hosting Brisbane 2032 events shortly before the Games commence.
