Since the 1980s, the Brisbane Entertainment Centre has had a long history of hosting large-scale events, including major sporting activities and concerts with international artists like P!NK. The centre is a world-class multi-purpose facility built to international standards and features a major arena with capacity up to 15,000 seats to view a range of indoor sports.
The centre has strong sporting links, with Leroy Loggins, an Australian Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, immortalised in a true to life bronze statue at the venue as a tribute from the people of Brisbane to honour the basketball legend.
Brisbane 2032 use:
The Brisbane Entertainment Centre is earmarked to host the Olympic handball and Paralympic goalball, with 11,000 spectator seats.
While there are no major works required at this facility as part of the Brisbane 2032 infrastructure program, shortly before the Games, the venue will be prepared for hosting Brisbane 2032 events.
All venues are being considered within the 100 Day Review into Games infrastructure and planning.
