Roma Street Precinct, Brisbane (exact location to be confirmed)

With state-of-the-art facilities and technology, the new Brisbane Arena will provide Brisbane and Queensland with a world class facility for premium live events that is highly accessible and well connected to all transport networks.

Brisbane Arena will be located within the northern end of Roma Street Parklands, close to the city’s most important public transport hub, served by suburban and interstate rail and bus, Brisbane Metro and Cross River Rail. The Arena’s suitability to host a cross section of major event styles means it will bring significant economic and social benefits to Brisbane, Queensland and nationally.

It will revitalise an underutilised inner-city precinct by helping Queensland to attract a greater variety of entertainment and international sporting events and strengthen Brisbane’s tourism sector.

The Australian Government has committed $2.5 billion to fund this project.

Brisbane 2032 use:

The new major event venue will be one of two Brisbane 2032 Olympics and Paralympics aquatic venues.

With the installation of a temporary pool, the Arena is earmarked to host aquatic activities (swimming, water polo finals and Paralympic swimming) including approximately 15,000 spectator seats, temporary warm-up pool and associated facilities.

The Brisbane 2032 venues and villages program currently includes competition venues for hosting 28 Olympic and 22 Paralympic sports.
