On the banks of the Brisbane River, the South Bank Cultural Forecourt is a premier event space that was part of the World Expo 88 site – a hugely successful event cementing Brisbane as a culture and lifestyle destination. Significant transformation of the site in the years since then has seen development of 17 kilometres of lush parklands and world-class cafes and restaurants with stunning river views, making this precinct a must-do for locals and tourists. The forecourt offers a multipurpose venue within the South Bank precinct and is now a location for culture and lifestyle activities including markets, festivals, and photos with the iconic ‘Brisbane’ sign.
