Games Legacy
03 Sep 2024
As the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games are underway in the French capital, Australians have been cheering on their Aussie sporting heroes.
Of the 4.3 million people in Australia with a disability, only one in four participates in sport, while three in four want to participate. With Paris 2024 on show, this opens a world of possibilities for people with disability to discover new sports that they might want to try. And as more people give para sports a go, it naturally lends itself to some advancing onto the pathways for high performance sport and creating new Paralympic dreams.
With Queensland set to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2032, there has never been a better time to visit the Sunshine State for training and competition opportunities in world class facilities that maximise Queensland’s amazing weather, scenery and friendly communities.
Queensland has loads of great international standard sporting venues across the state, with many priding themselves on the para sports they facilitate. Check out some of the State’s top Paralympic sporting venues below and find more venues and details for how to book on Sport Venues Connect.
